"If one has two loaves of bread, sell one to buy flowers -- for one will nourish your body, the other your soul"

Relax on the sun filled deck surrounded by fragrant flowers at Arbutus Garden House Bed and Breakfast

Vancouver is a gardener's paradise. Its moderate year round coastal climate and ample precipitation provides for a long growing season, which allows for a wide range of plants . Although cool weather plants thrive, even certain types of palms can be grown outdoors.

Almost every month of the year, one can find interesting color in Vancouver gardens and most visitors--especially those from "southern" areas-- are enthralled with both the lushness of our vegetation and the evergreen nature of our landscape.

We are in a neighborhood of well maintained properties with tree lined streets. We are also close to two local shopping areas ( MacKenzie Heights and Dunbar ) with restaurants and specialty shops. At Arbutus House, you can relax in your private patio or enjoy a drink on our upstairs sun deck with a view of the city and mountains.

A short block from Arbutus House is Balaclava Park, a large neighborhood park where you can take a picnic lunch or do your morning stretches before your jog on the magnificent trails of Pacific Spirit Park.
